Casting for Recovery Canada provides weekend retreats at no cost to the participants. A lottery draw is in place to select women from each province. Any women who has experienced breast cancer is eligable to attend a retreat (with medical clearance from their physicians). Our weekend retreats incorporate fly-fishing to promote mental and physical healing while learning a sport for life. |

The organization now covers 9 provinces including Manitoba.If you know any woman currently undergoing chemotherapy, please pass the word to her that there is a cleaning service that provides FREE housecleaning - once per month for 4 months while she is in treatment. Cleaning for a Reason, a Texas based company operating since 2007, will connect participating maid service in her zip code area to arrange for the free service. This organization serves all 50 states in the USA and four provinces in Canada. I don't know which CAD ones, but those of us in Canada all have friends in other provinces. The organization currently has 604 partners to help these women. Their partners have cleaned 2000 homes as of November 2009 at an estimated cost of $350,000. |
